We all rely on electricity day to day for various things, but for some, a power cut can be particularly distressing and difficult. Would you like to join a panel of passionate people who will help Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks ensure they meet the needs of millions of people and make a real difference?

 

We’re Workplace Diversity Solutions Ltd and we’re recruiting and chairing inclusive service panels on behalf of Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN). SSEN is looking to appoint a specialist panel who will help to inform and influence its decision making. The panel will have a particular focus on the provision of an inclusive service that benefits millions of individuals from across the UK.

 

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks’ Purpose

 

As a power distributor SSEN’s job is to develop, maintain and operate the electricity distribution networks in the north of Scotland and central southern England as well as developing and maintaining the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland. This is a very important job as they are responsible for keeping the lights on for millions of customers.

SSEN don’t send out electricity bills – you can choose your own company for that side of things, its job is to maintain and repair the actual electricity networks.  It is also SSEN’s job to fix power cuts as quickly and safely as possible.

What are we looking for?

We are looking to establish a panel of people with a wealth of expertise, knowledge and experience. Panel members should be passionate about customer service, keen to learn more about the energy industry and want to make a real difference to our customers and stakeholders.

We ask that panel members are able to attend 3-4 meetings per year with the expectation that you will provide 10 days input each year. This is an exciting opportunity to influence decisions at one of the leading GB network operators, learn more about how supporting customers with additional service requirements and to make a positive impact within the communities and for the customers SSEN serve.

The panel we establish will be made up of a chairperson and five or six other individuals who will guide and support thinking, make recommendations to senior figures about how we support customers with additional requirements and help SSEN to promote a culture of inclusion.

Who should apply?

Applicants are invited from across the UK; however we will pay particular attention to ensuring that the interests of SSEN’s customers from across the geographic areas it serves are fairly represented. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
